CertPing
Personal software project · UK cert vault
Don’t find out the insurance or ticket lapsed on Monday morning.
Spreadsheets get ignored. Paper lives in the van. CertPing is the crew matrix, the vault, and a coloured email before Gas Safe, CSCS, MOT or public liability lapses — not a job suite, not a site diary.
Duo 14-day trial · Crew 7-day trial — card required
What goes where
- Matrix
People × tickets. MOT, van tax, PL and PAT on the same grid.
- Vault
PDF or photo on the record. Open it from the van.
- Pings
Email at 90 / 60 / 30, then 14 / 7 / 3 / 1 / the day. Daily after it lapses.
- Pack
Who’s in date today — print for the main contractor.
Why I built it
I sell stone by day and build software for trade problems I’ve hit myself — STOCut, DupeStack, Todayworks. Todayworks is what happened on site. CertPing is the other Monday failure: the card or the insurance that lapsed while the paper sat in the glovebox.
- One grid so missing, due and expired are obvious
- Tick what this company tracks — a joiner is not staring at Gas Safe columns
- The file has to be findable — not a WhatsApp photo
- Price must not punish a two-person crew (Duo £9/mo)
The vault lane — not the back office
- Reminders that land
90, 60, 30, then 14 / 7 / 3 / 1 / the day. After it lapses, every morning until you update the date.
- Coloured pings
Teal at 90 days, gold at 30, red when it’s overdue.
- Choose what you track
Per company ticks. Unticked types stay off the matrix.
- UK types
CSCS, Gas Safe, ECS / JIB, IPAF, PASMA, MOT, PAT, PL — plus a custom name.
- Private files
PDF or photo, 8 MB. AWS EU, company-scoped keys, short-lived download links.
- Stay in this lane
No quoting, no site diary, no LMS. That’s Todayworks or a job suite.

What it isn’t
Not quoting, invoicing, site diary, RAMS, or an H&S advice line. Todayworks is the diary. CertPing is the tickets and the insurance. You remain responsible for keeping them in date.
