## Overview

StoCAD — the title on the desk is StoCAD — Stock CAD — sets out stone around a door: the opening, the wall finish, the steps below, coping on a wall, and pillar caps. Phil Stone built it. The desk links back here.

The working app is at app.stocad.co.uk. Draw the boxes first, then dress stone from the walking surface downward, so a tread can change without rebuilding the stack under it. Plan, front elevation and side elevation can leave as one drawing per sheet, or four drawings on one sheet, with your logo or name if you want it on the paper.

When the pieces are right, send the job to STOCut. STOCut stays the cutting-plan product. This page is the public write-up while the brochure site is still to come.

1. **Set the opening** — Door width, reveals, and the wall finish up the opening.
2. **Dress the stone** — Steps and landings, coping courses, and a pillar cap.
3. **Send to STOCut** — Pieces and edges go across. You still own the sizes.

## Features

- **Door opening** — Door width, left and right reveals, and the wall height up the opening. On the desk that height is the wall finish — not the step.
- **Steps and landing** — Levels with rise and going. The top landing sits at the door. Depth runs from the threshold lip out to the front of each box. Add a step below when the flight needs it.
- **Coping** — Crown a wall with coping: thickness, width, overhang and courses. A low wall, a planter or a retaining edge can take it. Joints and adhesive sit in the count.
- **Pillars** — Set the pillar cap, place it, and check it on the front elevation and in 3D before you export. Street piers beside a doorstep are the same family of work.
- **Plan and elevations** — Plan, front and side. Export one drawing per sheet or four on one sheet. Named stones on the desk include Indian sandstone, Kilkenny limestone and Egyptian limestone.
- **Send to STOCut** — Sign in, then send the job. Pieces carry their edges so STOCut can plan the cuts. Download the cutting plan as well. STOCut remains the saw-sheet product.

## Updated features

- **Against a wall** — Square off a side that abuts a wall. That edge drops its profile, overhang and extra joint, so the flight can sit tight to the house.
- **Wings and returns** — The front can be a centre piece with a wing each side, plus returns. The joints show on the front, where the customer will see them.
- **Coping courses** — Add coping to crown a wall you have already drawn. Courses stack with the thickness, width and overhang you set, including on a raised planter or a retaining edge.
- **Pillar caps** — Size the cap, place it, and read it on the front elevation and in 3D. The fab card follows the same sizes.
- **Sizes already on the job** — Door sizes can come from the site spec stored on the job, so you are not typing the opening again when you reach the step.

- **Send to STOCut** — When the pieces are right, send them. StoCAD draws. STOCut cuts. The two stay separate on purpose.
- **Brochure still to come** — There is no brochure site to send a customer to yet. Share this page, and open the desk, until that site is published.
